Kenneth DRUMMOND

DRUMMOND, Kenneth McCoy, 78, of Plant City, Florida, entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2014. He was born in Alma, Georgia and attended Edison High School in Miami, Florida. He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He went to work for the Railroad and raised his family in Roanoke, Virginia. He retired after 33 years and moved to Plant City where he was active in the community. Ken was a member of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He was a woodworker, a scientist and a life long learner who shared his passion for regional history, culture and music. His granddaughter was the shining star in his eye. He took great pride in the bridges built by his son-in-law to whom he has entrusted the care of his family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Libby; daughters Shelly Drummond and Beth Bush (Sean); granddaughter Sara Demolli; sisters Kathey Durham, Beverly Kelly, and Janet Petersen; and many family and friends who have loved him, laughed with him, and suffered the receiving end of his practical jokes. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, July 1 from 6 - 8:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 CR 39 S., Plant City. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 10:00 A.M. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 102nd Avenue, Bushnell.
