Just read about Bill's passing in the Florida Bar Newspaper. Sad to hear about his passing. His office was next to mine for a while in the old Sun Bank Building. Can only say good things about him. He was thoughtful, courteous, innovative and knew his area of the law as well as anyone. He was very helpful to me on so many occasions. It is a loss to the community.

Bill was a mentor to me and many lawyers in Tampa and across the state. He was more than generous with his time, and usually could aim you toward the answer with little pause to remember a case. He was always cheerful and honest. A man to copy both in life and the law. Tim Moran, Tampa

Bill was truly one of the great men here in Tampa. We all loved him and will surely miss him. He and Jan were great fans of the Goody Goody and he always helped me with the legal work on it. Thanks, Bill for all you did for Susan and I.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. You and your family have my deepest sympathy. Losing two loved ones so close is hard. Know that they are now together again. They will be greatly missed by all.

Very Sad. Losing both so quickly. But like all true love, one follows the other. Loved both Jan and Bill. We hope to still see Emma every once in awhile, with her Ukulele. Bill was so interested in the process of us getting the words and chords up on the screens at the library, and he surely wanted perfection, which we fell short of so many times, lol, cause we are dealing with gathering 25 songs each month and trying to get the absolute correct chords above the words. He'd stand up every so often and let me know if I wasn't speaking clearly or if I was in the way of the words. I found it delightful. Now that I see he was a music major, no wonder!!! LOL. Again, from all of us in Tampa Bay Ukulele Society, and those of us who got to know Bill and Jan and Emma at the library music jams each month, we send our condolences to the Platt family and friends, and we share in your loss. Jan will surely clean up heaven environmentally, and Bill can make sure heavens legal matters are all in order! Keep playing that ukulele Bill, we'll be thinking bout ya every month.
