Jacqueline Platt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Provenzano Lanza Funeral Home Inc. on Jan. 21, 2026.
Jacqueline Maude Oliver Platt, known affectionately as Jackie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, in her native city of New York, NY. Born on June 11, 1951, Jackie lived a life marked by her loving nature, her quick wit, and her intelligent mind. Her laughter and warmth will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jackie's early years were spent in the bustling streets of New York, where she attended local schools and embraced the city's diverse culture. Although her formal education concluded with some high school, Jackie's intelligence and curiosity for life never ceased. She was a lifelong learner, with an insatiable appetite for knowledge that was evident to all who knew her.

Jackie's personal interests were as unique and spirited as she was. She had an enduring love for crime shows, horror, and mysteries, often spending her evenings engrossed in the latest whodunit or spine-tingling tale. Her passion for reading mirrored her taste in television, with crime, horror, and mystery novels being her constant companions. Jackie's love for music was just as profound, with the soulful melodies of Patty LaBelle, Luther Vandross, Cher, Aretha Franklin as well as others providing the soundtrack to her life.

Those who knew Jackie would describe her as loving, funny, and intelligent. Her humor was infectious, and her ability to light up a room was unparalleled. Jackie's love for her family was boundless, and she leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Iman-Ayeesha Platt; her siblings, JoAnn Rivas, Robert Oliver, and Carolyn Martinez; and a host of family and friends who were blessed to know her.

As we bid farewell to Jackie, we celebrate a life lived with passion, a spirit that was unbreakable, and a love that was unconditional. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Jackie's departure from this world is not an end, but a transformation into the memories and stories that will keep her alive in our hearts forever.
