Sam BOWMAN Obituary

BOWMAN, Sam A.Age 70 of Madison, TN, passed from this life on September 10, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Affectionately known in the community as the Lawn Mower Man, he was a loving family man with a generous heart, veteran Screaming Eagle of the 101st Airborne, Shoney's Corporation and Restaurant owner, retiree. He is preceded in death by parents, Sam H. Bowman & Margie Collins natives of VA & NC. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Virginia Bowman; daughters, Debbie (Fred) Rager, Elkton, KY, Dawn (Troy) Raymer, Hermitage, TN, Denise Bowman, Old Hickory, TN; son, Sam A Bowman, Jr. (Paula) of Whitehouse, TN; sister, Wilma (Bowman) Fleming; brother, Raymond Grant (RG) Bowman, both of NC; nine grandchildren, (Jamie, Corey, Donnie, Crystal, Tiffany, Christopher, Troy, Kirsti, Blaine); nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-7 p.m. and on Monday from 1-2 p.m., services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Lowery officiating. In Lieu of Flowers the family request donations be made to the Sam Bowman Memorial Fund at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
