Harold G. Lowe Jr.

LOWE, JR., Harold G. Retired Photo Journalist, age 75, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at his home. Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his parents, Harold G. Lowe, Sr. and Katherine Estes Rice Lowe; and his son, Harold Guy Lowe. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Brown Lowe; sister, Katherine Lowe Hicks; nephew, Donald Rice (Joyce) Lowe; cousins, Fred A. (Marie) Lowe, Jr. and Fred A. (Kim) Lowe III. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Lowe attended Hillsboro High School, Montgomery Bell Academy, Vanderbilt University and University of the South in Sewanee, TN. Mr. Lowe was an accomplished photo journalist, having used his talents to photograph the struggles of the Civil Rights movement and numerous other historical events. Locally, he was associated with The Tennessean, Nashville Banner, WKRN, WSMV and WTVF. Mr. Lowe was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a 52 year member of the Corinthian Lodge No. 414, F. &A.M. Pallbearers will be Lyle T. Worsham, Lyle S. Worsham, Marvin Bailey, David Register, Rick Lowe and John Coleman.
