Sabrina Brown Obituary
She is also predeceased by sister, Alicia M. Brown. Sabrina is survived by her fiancé Gregory Young of Painted Post, NY, son and daughter-in-law, 2nd Class Petty Officer Christopher and Lauren Kane of Hawaii and son, Brian Kane with fiancée Megan Beschler of Elmira, sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Ed Hajduk and daughter Olivia of Apopka, FL, and many family friends.
Sabrina worked for the Economic Opportunity Program for 20 years as a teacher and family advocate in the Chemung County area. She loved spending days on Keuka Lake with her family and friends, volunteering as a foster parent through Tanners Paws. Sabrina battled cancer and was an advocate for the Palliative Care Unit at Carefirst through Hospice and was a true inspiration for many people.
Family and Friends are invited to the Elmira Elks Lodge #62 300 East Gray Street on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. for a celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers donations in Sabrina's memory may be directed to Tanners Paws P.O. Box 1125 Corning, NY 14830 or Carefirst, formerly Southern Tier Hospice, 3805 Meads Creek Rd, Painted Post, NY 14870.

I got to know Sabrina when we both worked at EOP and saw first-hand how much she cared about the children and families that went through the Head Start Program. Sabrina did not care about a person's status she would treat you the same whether you were the head of a corporation or had no connections at all. I consider myself lucky to call her my friend. There are no adequate words to express my sympathy to her family during this very sad time. Her infectious laugh and inspiring personality will be missed by many (including myself). Heaven just got a lot more fun! Until we meet again my friend.

Sabrina's strength, courage, and bright personality have served as an inspiration to all of us at CareFirst. Sabrina, thank you for giving me your dedicated and loving friendship for the last 40+ years. You left me with so many wonderful memories! Sabrina was a strong woman. I remember the first day I started Head Start I worked with Sabrina and we seem to follow each other through our years or was it I followed her. She always helped when I didn't know what to do. She was a great teacher, and family advocate. She helped so many children and families and touched so many lives. What I remember most about Sabrina was the light that emanated from her and her laughter. You could not be around Sabrina without being happy and smiling. She will be missed by those who knew her well and loved her. Those of us who knew her in passing will miss the fun and joy she brought to our encounters. She made a difference in many lives and she will be remembered with a smile. My condolences go out to her family, who she loved with all her heart( she couldn't stop talking about them) .
