Nathan Vanderpool Obituary
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on February 25, 1970, he graduated from the DuBois Area Senior High School and Clarion University of Pennsylvania. On August 9, 1997, he married his best friend, the former Dawna Rees, who survives in DuBois.
Nathan is also survived by his parents, Linda Lancaster and William (Mary)Vanderpool; his brothers, Brian (Jill) and Colin Vanderpool; his paternal grandmother, Lois Vanderpool; his mother- and father-in-law, Carol and Joseph Hamed; his sister-in-law, Nicole (Kevin) Carmichael; stepbrother- and stepsister-in-law, Joseph Hamed and Jaime (Matt) Godwin; and uncle and cousin, Bernie and Suzanne Pitman. Nathan had five nieces and nephews, who brought him great joy: Luke, Riley, and Logan Vanderpool, and Ava and Sean Carmichael. He also will be sorely missed by his lifelong friends, Eric Dressler and Jeff Bogacki.
Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, C. C. and Claribel Lancaster; his paternal grandfather, Edward Vanderpool; his father-in-law Dennis Rees; and an aunt, Connie Pitman.
Nathan worked as an electrician for many years at both D and D Electric and Jewell Electric. He enjoyed building, working on, and collecting watches, attending minor league baseball games with his wife, tasting new bourbons and beers, and debating and discussing any topic under the sun. He was known for his rapid-fire wit and hysterical turn of phrase.
Friends and family will be received from 3-6 p.m. at Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in DuBois on Saturday, June 5. Donations in Nathan's memory may be given to a local food pantry or the United Way.
