Forrest Wyrick Obituary
Forrest Donald "Frosty" Wyrick, age 64, lost his battle with cancer on April 17, 2013. He was born on April 14, 1949, the son of Charles and Virginia (Sherrow) in Ubly. He served our country with the United States Air Force and then earned his Associates Degree in College. He worked as Assistant Director of Student Activities for Central Michigan University, retiring in 2006. Frosty was a unique and diverse person, having interests in many hobbies and projects, which included bowling, guitar and banjo, trains and erector sets. He belonged to the M-46 Horseshoe Club, Michigan Wolverine Horseshoe Association, and was a PBA member and an accomplished bowler, having bowled many 300 games in several different bowling alleys. His real love was building replicas of iconic models such as his 101 ft. replica of the Mackinaw Bridge which sits in an art museum in Detroit, a 13-1/2 ft. replica of the Titanic. His love of trains is evident by the refurbished caboose that he displays in his front yard. His effort in helping with the installation of the horseshoe pits in Farwell is a legacy that will be enjoyed for generations to come. His contributions to our community and desire to pay it forward to our community and our state is a legacy to all who enjoy the projects he has completed and donated to be displayed.
He is survived by his sons, Randal, Mark, and Clayton Wyrick; and two brothers, John Wyrick and wife, Mary of Ubly, Tom Wyrick and wife, Cerita of MO; special friend and care- giver, Marcy Wyrick of Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Janis Krug and Sarah Nusbaum.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate His Life is planned for Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Campbell-Stocking Family Funeral Home in Farwell. David Luther will officiate, with burial in the Valley Cemetery in Ubly. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Memories and condolences may be shared online at

I only knew Frosty for one winter he stayed in Florida and joined the Clearwater Horseshoe Leagues. He quickly became a friend to many in the Club and was a fun to pitch with. He made an instant impression on our Club as a fun competitor and just a good friend to be around. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My best memories of Frosty, as a teen, are making rockets from scratch. Engineering came easy to him. I recall launching one of his rockets on a foggy late morning. THe altitude exceeded our expectations. We never found it and always joked that he reached orbit first. It was great to spend a day with him three years ago at one of my high power rocket launches. He was tickled to think that model rockets kept getting bigger and no one had told him.
Kite fights were always great fun. Engineering kites to carry offensive weapons and employ defensive strategies. It was all great fun.
t is sad to think that he is gone. I will forever remember his smile and fun nature.

I have great boyhood memories of Frosty...perpetual smile, great sense of humor, always making things. We used to camp in the woods near Ubly. My condolences to his family and close friends.

I've bowled with him and against him , played horseshoe tournaments with him and against him and all I can say is , what an intense competitor. He did it right or he didn't do it! What a good friend and what a great loss. My preyers go out to Randy and the whole family. Frosty was one of a kind and I fell honored to have been one of his friends. May God Bless.

I remember seeing him on various train rides between Alma and Cadillac. A very nice and warm hearted man you could tell he was a big kid when it came to trains
