Memories and Condolences

I met Dick at Notre Dame High School and we became good friends. Dick was really a nice guy and we loved to ride around town in his beautiful 1957 Plymouth Fury. We packed the Fury with 3 couples to go to our senior prom. Dick and his date was in the front seat and two couples were jammed into the back seat but no one complained. A good friend and nice guy; Fred Ball and his date joined us. The three of us spent a lot of happy times together and frequently went to the Notre Dame Dances on weekends. After graduation from Norte Name I went off to college at St. Bonaventure. I can’t remember but I think Dick went to study engineering but I forget where. Fred Ball joined the US Air Force and was unfortunately killer while on guard duty overseas. I did see Dick at a Norte Dame 10 year reunion and I remember that he was happily married and had a new house near a golf course.

I remember the night your dad proposed to my sister. Oh, they were so happy. Your dad was always very kind to me and my family and I will always remember him for that. He was very fortunate to have all of you taking such good care of him these last few years. I know that made his life a little better. I am so sorry for your loss, and wish I could be there in person. Treasure your memories of your family , they are very precious.

Dear Kim, Steve, Paula, Beth and Judy and all the grandchildren. We send our very deepest sympathies on the loss of Dick. He was a lovely man, soft-spoken, kind-hearted and always quick with a smile and laugh and a joy to be around. I will cherish the time we spent together growing up at the cottage and enjoying holidays we shared. We are sorry we will not be able to attend the services for Dick as we are in Florida for the season. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
