Thomas Benner Obituary

BENNER, THOMAS E.; of Oxford, MI; passed away January 15, 2013; at age 73. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Marilyn; adored son, Alan and treasured grandchildren, James and Jenna. He was welcomed into Heaven by his cherished daughter, Cheri. Also preceded in death by parents, Carl and Veronica Benner, brothers, Carl and Bob Benner and sisters, Helen Hunt and Norma Hoey. Survived by brother, Harold Benner; sisters, Jean Mroz and Pat Fick along with many dear nieces and nephews. He was a construction operator for 38 years and served the Oxford Village Council for over 10 years. Family will receive friends 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Christ the King Church in Oxford. For further information or to leave an online condolence please visit

Tom served his village (Oxford) with a rare balance of stability and foresight. His love for Oxford was evident in every position he promoted. All governmental units should all be so lucky to have leadership as Tom rendered.
