Enjoyed knowing her and working with her in the elections. She was always upbeat and knowledgeable about the rules of election. Was always involved in the best for our township! We will surely miss her and wish her family our prayers as they deal with her passing!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fortino and Felice family. We're saddened by your loss. "Aunt Betty's" smile and personality were contagious and we're sure that will be dearly missed by all whom knew her. Our warmest regards and sympathies to the entire family. As long time Felice employees, "Aunt Betty" and the entire family always made us feel part of a very large and wonderful family. We'll pray that you can take comfort in knowing that she did make a difference in the lives of many.

To the family and friends of Betty Fortino. This obituary is a wonderful tribute to a woman whose presence on this earth was felt by every person she met. Betty's smile and positive outlook was a blessing and I am thankful to have met and shared conversations with such a proud woman. A woman proud of her family and the love she shared with many. She will be sadly missed and I share with you all in mourning her passing.

To the Fortino family: I worked as the Accountant for Waterford for 11 years, hiring in at the same time Betty took office as the clerk. Those 11 years were like non other in my career. Betty was more of a mother than a boss and, while you might not like what she had to say, she was always caring in what she delivered. When I studied voice she couldn't believe I could sing so she took me into the stairwell and insisted I demonstrate. The whole building heard my debut for Betty. My favorite cake was chocolate and she made one for me every year. I traded cars too often she said, so she made a deal that she would give me a dollar if I could keep one for two years....I got a dollar from her - one anyway. I feel the loss and I haven't seen her in a while so I can't imagine what all of you must be going through. My heart goes out to you all.

My thoughts are with you during this tough time. During my two years covering Waterford Township for the Spinal Column, Betty was my favorite source. I loved walking into township hall and chatting with her about township news, and life. She was a fantastic human being and will be greatly missed by those she served through her fierce dedication to the people of Waterford, and by those who had the pleasure of working with her.

Very strong well spoken women who I admired very much. I pray that just with your father you hold the memories you have of her very close to your heart where they both will forever live. Dear Fortino family: I would like to let you know that Betty had a positive influence on me although I never met her. When I was a younger woman, I would see her campaign signs in my home town of Waterford and thought how neat it was that a woman was running for office and later was in office. It made me believe that women had a place in politics. Thank you for your influence Betty.

Teresa, Charlie and Tom - I am saddened to read of the loss of your mom. My memories of her are many but my favorite place to find her was in your family kitchen creating something wonderful from the garden. She was a cornerstone of so many positive things in Waterford. My heart goes out to all of you. May she rest in peace.

Dear Teresa and Charlie and family,
I cannot tell you how deeply sorry I am of your mom's passing. I loved her so much, she was there for me when my sister died unexpectedly and on a good note she was there for me when I became Catholic and married in the Catholic Church. She and I had many good talks about things that either brought tears or laughter, but above all our conversations many times were of our faith. That comforts me to know she is at peace and with the Lord and she will watch over all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Liz
