I worked with Judge Baggett after I was elected Clerk of Court for the County of Lexington. He and I hit it off from the first day we met. He became my mentor at the courthouse. I learned so much from him and I thank God for our friendship and the years we worked together. I know God has blessed you Jay! Tom Comerford

Thank you Judge Baggett for taking this young lawyer under your wings and occasionally caringly clipping mine , Danny Beck.

I am a lawyer from Anderson. I will never forget the first time I tried a case in front of Judge Baggett. He immediately made me feel like we were old friends, and I quickly realized that he was what all judges should be, but very few are. I used to drive down to McCormick early just to spend as much time with Judge Baggett as possible before he started Court each day. What a treasure he was!

Judge Baggett touched so many lives in positive ways. To his family I extend my heart-felt sympathies and can only state that he was a Prince of a Man and one that I had the pleasure of calling my friend over the many years I knew him. As a lawyer, the courthouses of this state will not see a man of his caliber again in a long, long time. God Speed and bless you.

I had the great pleasure and honor of learning the Law from Judge Baggett, I tried my first amany case thereafter with him and learned my most important legal lesson from him, to Care and try hard to Do the Right thing. Thank you Judge Bagget, I know my mom and dad met you at the Gate and are already retelling the tall tales of that young whipersnapper you tried so hard to train.
