Rose Luecht Obituary

GODFREY - Rose Marie Luecht, 90, of Godfrey, died at 9:56 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Morningside in Godfrey.

She was born in Kane, Illinois on November 1, 1925, the daughter of the late Cletus and Edna (Witt) Hayes Sr. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1308 ladies auxiliary in Alton, past member of Alton American Legion ladies auxiliary and a gold star wife. She married Stanley Luecht in Alton on January 27, 1946, and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1996.

Surviving are one daughter, Paula Richards of Clearwater, Florida; one son, Richard Luecht (Ann) of Godfrey; and two brothers, Cletus Hayes Jr. of Alton and David Hayes (Barb) of Alton; three sisters, Agnes Naylor of Alton, Florita Duncan of Alton and Linda Wense (Mike) of Alton.

Rose was preceded in death by three sisters, Kate Cole, Dorothy May and Sara McNab.

Graveside services were yesterday at Upper Alton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alton VFW Post 1308.

The family extends a special thanks to the caring staff at Morningside in Godfrey.
