Lois Macpherson Obituary

Lois Ann (Baird) MacPherson Marysville Mrs. Lois Ann (Baird) MacPherson, 93, of Marysville, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 15, 1916 in Port Huron to the late Frances Baker Baird and Albert Baird and was a lifelong area resident. She married John Aubrey MacPherson on July 24, 1937 and they were married for 66 years when he died August 31, 2003. Mrs. MacPherson was a graduate of Port Huron High School, Class of 1934. She and her husband built their house in Marysville together and lived there for over 60 years. She was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church for 63 years, the Port Huron Art Club, and Belvedere and Marysville Golf Courses. Lois painted many beautiful paintings, loved to play golf and bridge, enjoyed square dancing, cross-country skiing, tending to her flowers and garden, and was an excellent seamstress and an avid reader. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Bonnie Eberly, and two sons, Dennis A. MacPherson and Terrence (Barbara) MacPherson, all of Marysville; five grandchildren, Heidi (Mike) Zeile and Kristi Eberly of California, Terri (Tony) Gits of Oregon, and Scott (Michelle) MacPherson and Stephen (Brigette) MacPherson, all of Marysville; six great grandchildren, Shane, Kate, Derek, Emily, Jeffrey and Camryn; and a dear friend since childhood, Jean Waddell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially three nieces who thought of her as their second mother, Carole (John) Zimerman, Nancy (Larry) Corrigan and Pamela (Gary) Goodin. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Marysville United Methodist Church. The Reverend Barbara E. Welbaum will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marysville United Methodist Church. To send condolences, visit marysvillefuneralhome.com.
