Paula C. MacPherson

Paula C. (Decker) MacPherson, 79, of Northford, CT passed away at home on Monday February 2, 2026 peacefully after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease, with her spouse Tom Picolo and her family by her side, reuniting with her late husband John D. MacPherson.

Paula was born on January 16, 1947, in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of the late Cecelia (Orzechowski) and Paul Decker. She was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School, Milford. After high school she earned an Associate Degree from Housatonic Community College. She was employed with various jobs as a bookkeeper as well as owning a small business. She was a parishioner of St. Therese Church, North Haven for over 30 years where she was a lector and often sang with her dear friend Charlotte Stopa. She, was an avid football fan and loved the New York Jets. She enjoyed cooking and loved hosting parties for family and friends, especially on the holidays, Christmas Eve, and numerous Halloween costume parties and she hosted countless dinner parties over the years. Paula, always made sure her family and friends were well fed.

Paula will be greatly missed by her spouse, Tom Picolo, her son John-Paul MacPherson and his wife Lindsey, along with her three adored grandchildren, Cecelia, Annabel and Estelle MacPherson, a loving step-daughter Sandra MacPherson. She also leaves to cherish her memory a brother Michael X. Decker and her dearest life-long friends, Ann Marie Cummings and Claire Fox. Paula was pre-deceased by her sister Patricia.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 14, 2026 directly at the Church of Resurrection 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford for an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with graveside service will follow in St. John Cemetery, Wallingford.
