Richard Richo Obituary

Richard Richo
03/27/2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Richo, aged 65, of North Haven, formerly of Hamden, Madison, and Clinton, CT, who passed away peacefully at CT Hospice in Branford on Mar. 27, 2026 after a long illness.
He was a devoted father to Andrew of Denver, CO and Amy of Madison, CT. Richard had a unique ability to tell so many funny stories and share personal experiences that made so many of us laugh. He was a friend to so many along the Connecticut shoreline, especially his best friends David and Pamela Ferrante of Madison, CT. and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Richard retired in 2022 after a 40-year career with multiple roles in the printing paper and packaging industry.
In addition to his children, Richard is also survived his brother Robert (Patti) of Hamden, CT, his nephews Steven (Gina) of Nashville, TN, Michael of Austin, TX and his brother-in-law Jack Melia of Wallingford, CT, as well as his many cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Susan Melia, and his mother Lillian Atnes.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Donations in Richard's honor may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
