Samuel P. Dajao, "Sammy" to family and friends, passed away on July 21, 2011, at Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo. Born on June 19, 1943 in Oroquieta City, Mindanao, Philippines, he was the youngest of 13 children.
Samuel graduated from Immaculate Concepcion College in Ozamis city with a degree in accounting. He worked for William Lines shipping company in Cebu, where he met his wife, Bernadette. They married in 1974 and moved to the U.S. later that year. Samuel worked as an accountant for the City & County of San Francisco from 1976 to 2003 before retiring. Samuel lived in S.F. from 1974 to 1977, then moved to Vallejo, where he resided until his death.
Samuel was very active in the community. He served as president and treasurer for the Oroquieta Charity Foundation. He also was a Eucharistic
Minister at St. Vincent and St. Catherine Catholic Church and was an active member for Cursillos for Christianity. Samuel loved many things, including traveling with his family, eating at buffets and cheering on the S.F. 49ers and Giants.
He is survived by his two children, Allen (34) and Jonathan (30) Dajao.
Visitation is at Colonial Chapels at 1000 Redwood St., Vallejo, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 28, and Friday, July 29, with a 7 p.m. vigil on both dates. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3450 Tennessee St., Vallejo. Burial will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, 550 Glen Cove Parkway, Vallejo.

to allen and jonathan, my condolences! your father was such a great person and although i haven't in contact with him since college his sense of humor and persistence was part of his character. i was planning to visit him this year at the same time visit my niece at fresno, ca. i was looking for an email ad, found the notice of his death instead..may sammy rest in peace with our lord. ester, philippines

Uncle Sammy was a great person that I admired for his strength of character and his faith. He (and Auntie Adette) will live in my memories.
