WANAMIE — Jeanine Pierson, 76, of Wanamie, passed away Thursday, Dec.3, 2015, at Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born Feb. 20, 1939, in Brugnac, France, Jeanine was a daughter of the late Jean and Helena (Waz) Banucha. Educated in France, Jeanine came to America and became a naturalized citizen. Jeanine was employed by Woolworth as a cashier. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Glen Lyon.
Jeanine was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Pierson; her brothers, Edouard Banucha and Michel Banucha; and brother-in-law, William Pierson.
Jeanine is survived by her children, Richard Pierson, Crystal Bogdan and her husband, Leon, Paul Pierson and his wife, Beverly, Nicole Pierson and her husband, John; brother, Jean-Pierre Banucha; and grandchildren, David, Devin, Joshua and Gabrielle.
A blessing service will take place 7 p.m. Sunday, at the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc, 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with Deacon Thad Wadas officiating. Friends may call 5 p.m. to service. Jeanine will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wanamie.
