John Koval Obituary

John Koval, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away, Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Riverstreet Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.
Born December 15, 1921, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late John and Josephine Sepetska Koval.
He attended Wilkes-Barre City schools and was employed as a machine operator for the John Manville Corp. in Manville, N.J., until his retirement.
John served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II, serving in England.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Maternity, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Angela Kluska, whom he married April 6, 1953; sisters, Celia Terrace and Stella Krysa; brother, Frank Koval.
He is survived by brother, Joseph Koval, of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Josephine Franchella, of Plains Township and Agnes Leskiw, of Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Robert Bednarski Funeral Home, 27 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of the Maternity, 40 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. John S. Terry, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
