Charles Motta Obituary

RENSSELAER Charles F. Motta, age 90, entered into eternal life Tuesday, August 2, 2005. Born in Baltimore, Md., he lived in the Capital District most of his life. He had been co-owner of the former Joe & Charlie's North End Barber Shop in North Albany. Prior to that, during World War II, he worked at the Watervliet Arsenal. He was a communicant of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, a member of the K of C in Rensselaer, the North Albany Post #1610 American Legion and the Colonie Lodge of Elks #2192. Son of the late Dominic and Carmella Torre Motta. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Margaret Thomas Motta (Tambolleo); loving father of Mel Lanci and her husband Thomas of DeFreestville and Gerry Caropreso and her husband Anthony of Latham; brother of Mary Catalfamo of Rensselaer and the late Peter Motta and Sadie Sofia; cherished grandfather of Michele Lanci-Altomare, Angela Lanci-Macris, Mark Caropreso and Marisa Akley; proud great-grandfather of Alicia and Anthony Caropreso. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights, Albany (opposite the Philip Livingston School on Northern Blvd.) Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. and 9 o'clock at the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, 175 Williams Road, Troy (opposite Hudson Valley Community College). Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
