Edna Gleason Obituary

SCOTIA Edna Eliza Miller Gleason, a loving wife and mother, was called home to be with Our Lord on January 1, 2004 after a short illness at the Baptist Health Center in Scotia where she had been a resident for the last nine years. Edna was born to Frank and Eliza Miller in Mechanicville, N.Y. on March 14, 1913. She had been employed at the General Electric Company in Schenectady and then retired from St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Gleason in 1982 and her half brother, Walter Champlain, and her half sister, Helen Miller. She is survived by two sons, Robert W. Gleason of Spring Valley, N.Y. and John Gleason of Scotia, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Home, 264 North Ballston Avenue in Scotia. Services will begin at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Eric George of the First Baptist Church of Scotia officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Ausable Forks in the spring. The family suggests that memorials in Edna's name be made to First Baptist Church of Scotia, 132 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
