Woody, I miss you so. Not a day has passed since you left that I don't think of you. I'm making an effort to live consciously and squeeze as much joy out of every day as I can. Based on how my life has been shifting in such a positive and productive light, I can't help but KNOW you are looking out for me. Forever grateful we had the time we did together.
Love You Always and Forever...

To touch the sky,
oh way way up high
where the birdies
and stars fly.
That is where we'll be
in that someday fantasy
and we will talk and chat
you you wear the hat.
For now I listen to
the fading steps of shoes
are the ghost of two.

Buddy, not one day passes where I find my self thinking about all the great memories of our friendship. I still get the chills thinking about it all, and how I lost you so soon. I know your up there looking down on me, and keeping me on the straight and narrow! ;) Can you believe that I am married, have my own house, and expecting my first child? Crazy, huh? Who would have thought your ol' buddy Josh would have taken the big dive, ha ha ha. But do know Wood, that I think about you constantly, sometimes I laugh, but mostly I cry as its so hard for me to still come to terms with everything. Being away the last two years of your life was not how I wanted it to be, but you were always there waiting for me when I came home! Man, the hell we put our moms through! Right Mary Anne?? Haha. Well I just wanted to talk to you and let you and everyone know that I'm doing OK...I miss you so damn much, and I love you like the brother I never had! Mary Anne, Paul, and Moss, I miss you guys too, and the sooner my enlistment is up (Nov '07) the sooner I can come and be with all my friends and family for good! Love you all.

My good son….
Where you go now in time I must follow.
I would have been there to greet you but now you will greet me.
Just wait awhile by the tree that smiles and look about for the wood turtle.
In no time at all we will search together.
Then we will walk the wildflower road and our clear eyes will see their vast array and we will be among our friends, the hummingbirds and the dragonflies.
Even now the groundhog is standing with a mighty stillness in the grasses of those fields listening for our approach.
Everything awaits us!
We will make a campfire in the twilight beneath the stars and watch the fireflies drift, and tell tall and taller tales of The Raccoon King and his troops that gather about our campsite. And all about us will be lightness and space and love. And a great Smiling Mirth.
Then In early light we will make our way down to the tidal pools. What surprises will be offered at the edge of the ocean!
Your good heart will return.

I am sorry for the loss of your loved one, Woody. I grew up in Feura Bush and I too lost a brother who was nearly 20, so I know it will take a long time for the pain you are feeling now to go away, but you will treasure the time you spent with him forever. May God have mercy on Woody and comfort and strengthen you in your time of sorrow.
