Margaret Mary Powers

COLONIE Margaret Mary (nee: Fisch) Powers, 87, of Colonie, passed away on April 8, 2015. Born in Albany on November 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Attilio Fisch and Catherine Freudenthal. Raised and educated in Albany, Margaret attended St. Peters School of Nursing, and was employed as an RN at Brady Hospital for many years. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Albany. Margaret is remembered for her loyalty to her family, her love for her grandchildren, and her passion for the NY Mets. In addition to her parents, Margaret is predeceased by her husband, F. Raymond Powers Jr.; her beloved son, Timothy Powers; and her five siblings, Catherine Denisulk and Eugene, Attilio, Mary and James Fisch. She is survived by her children, Michael (Paula) Powers of Oceanside, Calif., Patrick (Bobbie) Powers of Canastota, Margaret (Al) Destrempes of Uxbridge, Mass., Maureen (Louis) Van Buren of Colonie, Mary Theresa Powers of Colonie and Kati (Keith) Rose of Colonie; her grandchildren, Christopher (Tanya), Shawn (Kelley), Patrick and Riva Powers, Tara (William) Hoffman, Nicholas, Amie and Dana VanBuren, Scott (Krisley), Rebecca, Ethan and Hannah Rose and Kristina and Jaime (Jill) Powers; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 10 a.m., at The Church of Saint Clare, 1947 Central Ave., Albany. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
