Dear Dena and Lisa,
I am deeply saddened to hear about Erika. I hadn't been in touch with her for many years but she had always been close in my thoughts. Erika was my first friend in Lake of the Woods when my family moved back from Geneva. She was there to teach me all the ropes in 8th grade when the US seemed really strange to me. We had lots of fun hanging out together down at the lake during the summer. My heart goes out to both of you.

Olivia - I recently learned of the death of your mom from a phone call from my mom. Erika was one of my closest friends from 7th grade through our mid-20s. Our lockers were always side-by-side because of our last names. She was voted best-looking our senior year of high school and had the most-beautiful smile. We moved to Dallas, Texas together out of college (looking back - pretty much babies), where we shared apartments, clothes, friends and our new young lives together. She was always so professional, beautiful and smart at her job. Needless to say, we shared a lot of laughs, stories and tears. We moved to different states and lost track of each other through the years, but I thought of her a lot. My heart is broken. A part of her will always be with me. I wish peace and comfort to you and your family.

I just heard, I am soooo sorry. I only remember Erika as my neighbor and going to high school with her. Dena I remmber you and your kids who I am sure are grown especially since my "youngest" just graduated high school, and Lisa just as a little girl. I
can't tell you how sorry I am. I know I am slow at finding out but my thoughts and prayers are with you all. As for your parents about all I remember is golf and of course the little puppy dogs. Can't forget them. Love ya Marilyn

Erika,
You have been my best friend for the last 25 years of my life. I have never a friend who I have been so close to and shared everything with. We both watched our families grow and had so many great things we did together. My children loved you so much and always looked forward to spending time with you, Jim, and Olivia.
Erika you will always be in my heart and my best friend. I will miss you greatly and will always remember the great times we had and shared. I know you are in God's hands and in peace now. We love you Erika.

While I had not seen Erika since high school, I have never forgotten her. I was deeply saddened to learn of Erika’s passing. I pulled out a very old photo album and there we are on the front step of the house on Tall Trees Drive and all dressed at a couple of high school dances. In another photo Erika is playing with one of the family dogs. In another she is with Dena and Lisa, the three sisters wearing Mexican sombreros. Many fond memories have returned today.
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. Erika is in my thoughts and prayers. All her trials are now over.
Sincerely,
Lori Cannon Taylor

I just wanted to let you all know how much I've been thinking of you--my heart goes out to all of Erika's family. I was remembering our girls' cropping weekend for Lisa's birthday in 2006. Erika rode with me and that was the first time I had spent much time with her. She was so easy to talk to! During the drive and while we were working on our scrapbooks, it was very clear how much she loved her family and especially you, Olivia. She wanted to get those pages done to document your life. I cannot begin to think of comforting words, but know that there are many people who were touched by Erika.
