Cecil and I rode the school bus together! You really get to know someone when you ride the bus with them! :) He was the classic "strong silent" type. He had a big heart, equally big smile, loved Jesus, and was a good friend. He was most definitely one of the good guys. My heart goes out to his mom, Debra, and brother, Trevor. You lost him way too soon. But, I know you know where he is! If you knew Cecil and you don't know his Lord, he would want me to tell you to fix that today.

Grateful for 32 years of friendship
Grateful for the peace I have that he is with Jesus - he came to Christ at a young age and I witnessed his pursuit of Jesus throughout his life!
Ill miss you, brother! Love, Justin

Our hearts are broken beyond comprehension. Even though we have peace knowing you're Sweet Sweet Soul is in Heaven, our hearts are still devastated. Life will never be the same without you. I didn't call you enough, I didn't text you enough, but I always knew you knew how much we loved you. IV, you were one of the BEST men I've ever known. You were wonderful in so many ways, but I loved the way you loved Jesus and people, especially your Mom & Trevor, the most. Always, quiet, a man of few words, but when you spoke, it was always spot on!! You will be in our hearts forever. I will do my best to comfort your Mom and Trevor for the rest of my life. There is no way I can even comprehend the pain they are feeling with your loss...it's HUGE. I'll miss you til I see you IV... I Love you from All of my Heart, Love, Aunt Mary

I was honored to have taught Cecil at EHHS. He was a wonderful young man and had all the great qualities of what I would want in a son. He was a true Viking and made his friends, family and school proud. May the God we serve bless his family and continue to lift them up with all the memories of Cecil. I did not know Cecil personally, but the shining spirit referenced in all of these guest book remarks is a reflection of his mother's spirit that I know so well. Condolences to all his family, but especially to Debbie.

We have only known Cecil Shine for a little over a year, but it feels like we have known him a lifetime. He was one of the most interesting, intelligent, and kind people we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Our professional relationship quickly turned into a close friendship. He was the best we have ever worked with as a colleague in our profession, and an even better friend. We will always cherish the day we spent with Cecil on our boat at last year's Georgia / Florida game, the day before the game, and the hours we spent together there talking about his family history and many other topics. Our hearts ache at his passing. Thank you, Cecil, for coming into our lives and sharing your unique grace.

Cecil always referenced me as his vendor wife. I spoke to him daily. He was a kind loving soul who had a heart of gold. I will miss you and our talks about football and you aggravating me about my "princess" getting married. I will miss you my ray of sunshine.....

"Shiner" was my friend. We knew each other mostly through business where he was always the ultimate professional and expert in his field. He was always kind and caring and when you would run into him at events he genuinely had interest in how you were doing. Selflessness, honesty and integrity come to mind. He made it look easy. If only we had more like him. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends.

Cecil "The Diesel" Shine was a friend of mine for many years. He was a great/kind man and he had a very gentle soul. We would often talk and hang out over a few Jack and gingers. He had such a cool and calm demeanor. I will miss my friend.
My prayers go out to the Shine family.
I love you Diesel!! Rest easy my friend!

He was my FIRST grandchild. Thus that shall live with me forever. A VERY handsome soft spoken, kind person was he. But his shinning light was a sincere, consecrated Christian that no one could not know, after meeting him. May Jesus rest his precious soul.
