Kent was a fine man. I always enjoyed visiting with him at Landon HS alumni lunches and hearing stories about his submarine.

Wes, I did not know your father, but judging by your character and good name, I can only assume he was an outstanding man of exceptional character. So sorry for your loss.

Mr Markham was my teacher at Gorrie back in '68 - '69 and he showed us his submarine pics on the cover of Popular Mechanics I think. I didn`t know teachers were inventors and mechanics too and I was very impressed with his abilities and cool inventions. My father was a home garage inventor and I helped him make me several bikes, some where big wheel 1890's style, some I sat only 6 inches off the ground and others the rear wheel steered along with the front (crazy), also a safety dart board which Whamo bought and a 2 wheeled skate like the ones kids have in the heels of their shoes that we produced for sale at Pic n Save and Toytown. I thought I had the only 'Nutty Professor' until I met Mr Markham ha ha! He showed us that there are exceptional people in all walks of life and that all things are possible.

I have never forgotten Mr Markham, a kindred spirit to my Dad. I am happy that he had a long life and I hope a fulfilling one. Mike Finn, owner Finn`s Brass and Silver Polishing
