Lynwood Zunk Obituary

Lynwood "Sam" Zunk

OAK HARBOR: Lynwood "Sam" Zunk, 64, of Oak Harbor, passed away early Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He was born on March 14, 1952 in Port Clinton to Leonard and Bessie (Fizer) Zunk. On July 7, 2001 in Port Clinton he married Jackie Lynn Bebow, and she survives. Sam worked as a Union Carpenter for 45 years and also as a supervisor for NPS, Inc. for over 10 years. He also previously served as a past president of the Carroll Township Water Board.

Sam especially loved his family and his wife, Jackie, who was the most important thing in his world. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and his dog, Oscar. He was a wonderful friend to his friends, as they were to him.

In addition to his loving wife of 15 years, Jackie, he is survived by his sons, Jeff (Lisa) Zunk and Jason (Tina) Zunk, grandchildren, Zach Zunk, Jamie Oberst, Quinten Zunk, Andrew Oberst, Christopher Zunk, Samuel Zunk, Anastaisia Zunk, Vincent Zunk, and Markus Zunk, and brother, Lennie (Juanita) Zunk. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Luke Zunk.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor where the funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017. Interment will follow in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. I have been to North Dakota on two memorable hunting trips with Sam. Lets just say he observed my best performances with swan hunting each time in ND. He was always fun and outgoing. His cooking will be sorely missed by all. My condolences to Jackie and all of his family. I am clear out here in Idaho or I would be at his services. To the rest of the hunters, Buzz, Mr. Duck, Johnny, and Smitty, this is a big loss of a good friend.
