Betty Bankowski Obituary
Betty Bankowski, 97, born June 10, 1928, and passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. Married for 49 years to Lawrence Banksowski, International President of the American Flint Glass Workers Union. Betty traveled extensively around the world with her husband and enjoyed more relaxing travels by cruising with her family after his passing. When not traveling, Betty was an outstanding mother who always offered guidance and support for her family and prioritized establishing a family legacy for years to come. Bedside during her passing was Kathy Jelinger and Olivia Bouttavong.
She is survived by daughters Carol Kansorka, Karen Bankowski (Jacksonville, FL), Kathy (Tim) Jelinger; grandchildren, Heather (Todd) Sayler, Jeff Jelinger, John Jelinger; great-grandchildren, Ethan Sayler, Hannah Sayler, Grant Sayler, Grace Sayler, Jacob Jelinger and Montana Jelinger; and very special friend Olivia Bouttavong.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; and her siblings, Charles Kleinhans, Jeannette Groszewski and Bonnie Lafontaine.
Private services will be held for the family with interment at Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care of Betty by Hospice of NW Ohio and encourages memorial donations to their organization.
