Walter Hice Obituary

Walter G. Hice Jr., 76, of Delmont, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, in Westmoreland Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Curtisville, a son of the late Walter G. Sr. and Ellen E. (Stokum) Hice. Prior to his retirement, Walter was an employee of the Port Authority Transit for 30 years. He was a proud Army veteran who enjoyed camping and fishing. In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ralph Hice; and two sisters, Florence Campbell and Jeannie Hice. Surviving is his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Edna (Loughner) Hice; loving son, Kevin J. Hice, of Delmont, and his fiance, Sara Bell, of Spring Church, and her children, Sarah, Madison, Tyler and Brianna Bell; also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export, 724-327-1400, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.
