James DelVerme Obituary

James DelVerme, 77, of New Eagle, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born May 22, 1936, in Brownsville, the son of Patsy and Virginia Marino DelVerme. Jim was a Brownsville High School graduate, Class of 1954. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After the service, he attended Mason Frederick Beauty School in Uniontown. Jim was an established businessman and hairdresser in Monessen for over 50 years. He taught and traveled internationally throughout his professional career. Jim and Billie Jean also enjoyed spending their time traveling abroad. He was a proud member of the Finleyville Italian Gumba Society. Jim is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Reiter, with whom he shared 33 beautiful years; three daughters, Jody Stewart-Laughlin and husband, Aaron, of South Park, Tamara Kezmarsky and husband, Tim, of Uniontown, and Shannon Koch and husband, Ron, of New Eagle; son, Brian Reiter and wife, Tiffany, of Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Jake and Alexandra Stewart, Sara and Tessa Kezmarsky, Trevor and Conor Koch, Sienna and August Reiter; sister, Patricia and her husband, the Rev. Robert Henry, of Gibsonia; brother, Tony DelVerme and wife, Rose, of Waltersburg; and daddy's little girl, Bailey. Friends will be received 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, and from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, with the Rev. Robert Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
