Marc Altamare

A memorial service will be conducted to remember Marc Altamare, a former Donora resident who lived in Daytona Beach, Fla. Altamare died Jan. 14 of cancer. The service will be conducted 6 p.m. Feb. 6 at Our Lady of the Valley, St. Philip site, Donora. Friends and relatives are welcome to attend the service. Altamare created sand sculptures along the beaches of the East Coast before settling in Daytona Beach in 1979. His favorite sculptures depicted Leonardo Da Vinci's "Last Supper," Michelangelo's "Pieta," and "Moses with the Ten Commandments." Marc is survived by his wife, Suzanne Hain Altamare, and daughters Amber and Sarah, all of Daytona Beach; parents Robert and Rena Altamare of Donora; brothers Jan of Nashville, Tenn., and Luke of Donora; and sisters Robin Mulkern of South Park and Rona Crow of Coal Center.
