Daniel Steighner Obituary
He was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Butler. He served in the Korean Conflict with the Army. Mr. Steighner was an inspector at Armco, Butler, before retiring. He was a former Scout Master. He enjoyed gardening and refinishing furniture. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Worhatch Steighner; three sons, Daniel D. Steighner II of Evans City and L. Sean Steighner and Gregory L. Steighner of Cabot; two daughters, Mrs. Victoria (Basel) Qatawi of Columbus, N.C., and Mrs. Karla (Gregory) Cottrell of Erie; two brothers, Paul Steighner of Saxonburg and Gordon Steighner of Leechburg; and a sister, Valjean McGinley of Butler. Also survived by five grandchildren, Alexandra, Brittany Noelle and Cassandra Steighner and Iman and Sami Qatawi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard J. and Marie Raybuck Steighner; two brothers; and a sister. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Keplinger, pastor of English Lutheran Church, Zelienople, will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
