Carol Pihaylic Obituary

Published by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home - Port Huron on Mar. 27, 2017.

Carol Ann Pihaylic, 50, of Port Huron, died at home Monday, March 27, 2017, after a one-year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She fought the best of fights but in the end God decided to take her home.

She was born March 17, 1967 in Cass City to Marjorie and the late LaVerne Kiehl. She married Robert D. Pihaylic on October 21, 2000 in Port Huron.

Carol was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She was a friend to many and brought people together in a way that was unique to her. She was the first to jump in and offer help to anyone that needed it. If she knew you and she thought she could help, she would.

She attended Ubly Community Schools and St. Clair County Community College, earning an associate degree in Arts & Science. She worked for the Times Herald in retail advertising as an ad designer. She then worked 25 years for the Macomb County Planning Commission, starting in 1991 as a draftsman, promoted to Graphic Technician in 2002, and retiring in 2016. She worked on a variety of projects for the county and was complimented for her excellent work. She was also known as the official coordinator of FUN for the department. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3702 Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Chapter 99. She helped produce a series of activity books for the Macomb County Historical Commission and worked on events for Care House, Wigs for Kids and Fools for Kids.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Rylee; her mother, Marjorie Streussnig; two sisters, Jean Kloska and Pat (Jim) Latimer; a brother, Chris (Holly) Kiehl; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Jean Pihaylic; a sister-in-law, Carrie Pihaylic; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, LaVerne Kiehl; and stepfather, Ted Streussnig.

Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

My deepest condolences. Death of a loved one is never an easy thing to go through. Just remember you are not alone. Isaiah 61: 2 "...To comfort all who mourn" God is right here to help you.
