Donald George Wagemann

Donald G. Wagemann, a long-time resident of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on December 2, 2017, at the age of 86, under the wonderful care of Suncoast Hospice Mid-Pinellas in Pinellas Park . Don was born August 1, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henry J. and Frieda (née Lindenberg) Wagemann. Don enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in January of 1952. After serving eight years, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he worked at the nearby missile base. Don wants loved ones to remember him as having lived life to the fullest. He was a devoted son and brother, a good friend, and the fond uncle of many. His hobbies included traveling, cooking, gardening, music, going to the theater, bargain hunting, and spending time with family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Banshee and Rebel. Don was also a very generous individual and supported many charities. He is survived by his dear sister, Sharon (Donald E.) Caithamer; his sister-in-law, Albina (née Riha) Wagemann; 14 nieces and nephews; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Wagemann and Henrietta (née Wagemann) Velazquez; brother George Wagemann; his brother-in-law, Margarito Velazquez; nephew Keith Wagemann; and great-nephew Jay Velazquez, Jr. Funeral services were provided by Brewer & Sons. Final inurnment with military honors to be held on February 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 5750 49th St., North in St. Petersburg, Florida.
