Giddo Fawzi was an amazing granddad; his loss is not only a huge blow to his family and friends but also to the science world, the chemistry world, really the entire world. It's amazing how many things he has accomplished in his very long life (87!!!). If I had the time or mindset to do it, I might have said a lot more things when we were saying our final goodbyes. But, I guess, in some important moments, I love you is enough. To all of my family and all of Giddo Fawzi's friends, remember that his spirit is within you and that he is watching from Heaven. To Giddo Fawzi's genius, sweet, excentric spirit, rest in all the peace God can give you.Sincerely, Sulaf H.

Hearing of Fawzy's passing was a total shock. I worked with him for many years in the 70's and 80's at Stauffer Chemical, which later transitioned to Akzo Chemical. In recent years it was always a pleasure to talk with him again at the annual dinner for Dobbs Ferry researchers and reminisce about the "old days". I will miss this fine gentleman.
