Galdo Pavini

Went to heaven on July 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at home surrounded by his loving family with the words, "You are loved always" whispered in his ear. Born in Alameda CA, he was raised in the San Francisco Excelsior District. He attended Balboa H.S. with his late brother, Bruno. He met the love of his life, Madeline Patricia, through the Magi Club at Epiphany Church where they married in 1950. They raised their 5 children in the same neighborhood. In 1981, they moved to San Mateo. Galdo was a proud member of the Lions Club where he was the International Treasurer for the Eye Foundation. He was the Foundation's oldest and longest member. His heart was bigger than most and his integrity was above reproach. They don't make them like that anymore-one of a kind. He will live in our hearts always. Ti Amiamo. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat of 65 years. Son Michael, daughters Madeline Cummings, Jeanette Musci, (Thomas) and Marie Martin (Mike) and daughter-in-law Carol. Predeceased by his son, James and son-in-law, Mike Cummings. Nonno to Chris, Tim, Michael, David, Kristy, Brandon, Ken & Joelle. Bisnonno to Audrey, Oliver, Madeline & Marilyn. Friends may visit on Wednesday, July 15 after 1:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a vigil at 2:00 p.m. at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church in San Mateo. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lions Eye Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
