SPENSBERGER, George H. - of Birch Run, age 94, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Birch Run with Fr. John S. Sarge officiating. Burial at Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Sunday from 12-9pm with a K of C Rosary being held at 4:30pm and a Vigil Service at 6pm. He will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hope or Sacred Heart Catholic Church building fund. George was born August 3, 1913 in Gibson City, Illinois to the late Joseph and Autonia (Kielhorn) Spensberger. He had resided and farmed in the Birch Run area all of his life. George married Myrtle Giltrop on July 8, 1977 in Birch Run. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the K of C Council #7233. He enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are: wife, Myrtle; step-son, Gary (Tammy) Niarhos of Wilson; step-daughters, Kathy Niarhos of Colorado, Denise (Craig) Chancellor of Alabama; 9 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren; sisters and brothers in law, Lillian Giltrop of Bridgeport, Helen (Walter) Scheffler of Birch Run, Dolores McDonald of Bridgeport, Patrick (Helen) Giltrop of Birch Run, Michael (Nancy) Giltrop of Gladwin, John (Paula) Giltrop of Saginaw, Henry Giltrop of L'Anse, Cathy (Clarence) Ruggles of Sanford; many nieces and nephews. George was also preceded in death by his sister, Catherine and Ray Pickleman; brothers and sisters in law, George Giltrop, Richard McDonald, Josephine Giltrop, Agnes and Howard Stephens.
