Gilberto Gomez Moreno

Gilbert Gomez Moreno, brother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, went home to rest on January 13, 2016, at 4:42 AM, surrounded by his family in San Antonio, Texas. He has been reunited with his parents, Gregorio Moreno and Maria De La Luz Gomez Moreno, siblings Daniel Moreno, Oralia Villanueva, Gregorio Moreno, Jr. and infant son, Jose "Joey" Moreno. His tremendous love, and love of God was evident through the eighty two years joyfully spent leading a life of service to those around him. His profound sense of duty to his family was best exemplified by his desire to make his wife, Natalia Berreles Moreno, the happiest woman in the world. Their fifty two years of marriage were filled with abundant blessings. The most precious of these blessings were, undoubtedly their children, Esmerelda, Ester, Elizabeth, Gilbert, Natalie, and Joey Moreno. He enjoyed watching his family continue to grow with granddaughter Angel Torres McQuatters, husband James McQuatters and great-granddaughter Gabriella McQuatters, grandson Tracy Torres, Jr., granddaughters Crystal Brosch and Hannah Moreno, and long-time friend Linda McReynolds. Truly, his happiest moments were those spent in the company of his family, including his siblings Petra Sanchez, Arturo Moreno, Ramiro Moreno, Maria De La Luz Ramirez, Rosa Hilda Villarreal, and Jesus Moreno, and numerous nephews and nieces. In great confidence, his life echoes Paul's words with a heart abounding with love, " I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just Judge, will award to me, and not only me, but to all who have longed for his appearance." (2nd Timothy 4:7). Please join Gilberto's family in celebration of a life well lived. There will be a Visitation at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx. 78239, on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2829 Ackerman Rd., Kirby, Tx. 78219, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
