The last meeting I had with Prof. Jreisat in person was in 2018, not 2016, based on my calendar notes. Also as USF´s colleagues and friends highlighted: " The late Professor Jamil Jreisat was the founder of USF's Masters of Public Administration program, and he spent his entire academic career educating future public leaders and strengthening local government in the Tampa Bay area and beyond..." He was going across the academic disciplines and helping professions, ahead of his time

Professor Jreisat was on my dissertation committee in the Dept. Of Anthropology at USF. In 1990 I also took the coursework for my doctoral minor in comparative public administration under his caring guidance. His insight, expertise, kindness, wisdom... always remind me wherever I go. I talked fondly with Professor Jreisat in person after Barbara Wolfe´s memorial service in 2016. My profound condolences and sympathies to Dr. Jreisat´s family and friends. His remarkable legacy will be remembered and sustained in years to come. RIP

I was very sadden knowing that professor Jamil Jreisat passed away. I became one of his students at USF in 1983. Subsequently we became close friends. He was a noble person. I and the people who knew him will definitely miss him. My condolences to his children, family, colleagues and friends. Mubarak Alhammad

Dr. Jreisat was an invaluable asset to my academic growth. I took several of his classes through my MPA curriculum. I am very saddened to hear of this tremendous loss. Deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family. Dr. Jreisat is proof that not all heroes wear capes.

I just heard of Dr. J's passing...I felt compelled to leave a memory...I was in his PA classes during my graduate school curriculum, finalizing in October and graduating in December, 1995. Dr. Jreisat was an outstanding academic with impeccable teaching skills.. Many students mentioned what a hard grader he was in "rate my professor". I for one found his toughness to be a tremendous attribute because it made his students tougher in return. That for me was a great life lesson and Dr. J taught not only academics, but life lessons. I was thankful to see him at an Alumni function a few years back...not surprisingly he called me by my first name and asked about students who were in class with me. He shall be greatly missed around USF and the greater Tampa Bay area. May God bless and keep is family from this day forward, thank you for sharing him with so many of us.

Debby and I send our deepest condolences to Mark, Leila and family. Jamil was a great man, world class academic, and honest to a fault. These are rare qualities, but his sage advice and mentoring to many, including me, was well appreciated. I wish we had been in town but we are at IU in Bloomington (on sabbatical) currently. Jamil will certainly be missed, but not soon forgotten. May he Rest In Peace. John & Debby Daly

We are so sorry to hear about Jay's passing. He stopped by on Halloween to give our kids an extra bag of candy because he felt bad he had only given them two pieces and told us how beautiful they were. He was a great neighbor to have and we will miss saying hello. Hoping for comfort for the family in this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.
