Miss Huvaere, the years that I was at St.Jude I will always remember you at the really nice teacher that I had, but the one thing that I always remember is you where the teacher that I went out into the hall way to do some work, but you told me that I could not move the boats out of my way. So the kid I was I moved the boats and you sent me to the principal office. To this day I laugh at that as I should have listen. You will be miss, Rest In Peace.

Jan will forever be in our hearts as she was a regular summer guest of ours for many years at Lakeside Motor Lodge in Port Austin. She was such a loving and giving person and always brought gifts for our small children each year which they were so excited to open. We will truly miss her each and every summer from here on but are so thankful we got to spend some time with her just a few weeks ago. Rest in peace Jan †

I had Miss Huvaere as my third grade teacher. She was a fantastic teacher. I had the pleasure of meeting her 2 years ago where I was working. She insisted that I call her Janet. Wow, that was a strange feeling. Rest in Peace and may perpetual light shine upon you.

Janet was always faithful to her christian vocation of responding to the needs of those around her. As an educator she helped her students discover their skills and talents to be used in the service of God by serving others as a Dominican Associate she continued the mission of Jesus by study, contemplative prayer and action on behalf of justice. I first met Janet when my Aunt Ann Jacques hung out together. They went to St Ambrose together. Then she came to St Jude and I believe my sister Karen had her as a teacher. Then when I married and returned to St Jude my kids were taught by her. Ran into her a few times later. Aunt Ann passed away a few months ago also. I remember her fondly. She and your family are in my prayers.

I was lucky to have Ms. Huvaere for third and fifth grade. She was one of my favorite teachers. She was patient, kind and had a gentle quality that made her very approachable. God bless you Ms. Huvaere. I owe my stunning penmanship to your patient guidance.
