My condolences to the family. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure in your heart, and it lives on forever. May the memory of this wonderful treasure fill your heart with love and bring you peace.

My wife Sandi and I send the McKearin Family our prayers for the peace that passeth understanding on the passing of Jack McKearin.

He was an incredible person with his sense of Irish charm and humor, his impishness and delight in every day he lived. He was a dedicated man as well, dedicated and loving to his wife Pauline and his family, and to his Lord.

Jack and I worked together daily for more than 4 years in the DuPont Stren Fish Line business, from Jan 1980 to early 1984. He was its Marketing Manager, and I was the National PR Director.

We also exercised together at the YMCA Delaware's Central Branch on our lunch hours, getting into a running routine every day. In those early 1980s when amazingly only women did the YMCA's Aerobics classes, Jack and I were the first two men to integrate the classes.

I remember being at Pauline's and Jack's anniversary party that became the first-ever social event at Brantwyn, when the DuPont Country Club took it over from the DuPont Family and brought it into its facilities.

DuPont did not furnish us the tools we needed in the fishing business, the rods and reels and apparel, and we could not buy and charge it. Bartering became an art for us, trading Fish Line for fishing tackle and such. Jack was so accomplished that we kidded we expected to see him trade Fish Line for a Cadillac some day.

Jack retired in 1985, I did in 1993, and we'd lost track of each other by that point, but I always missed having Jack in my life over the last 25 or so years. He indeed was one of life's memorable characters, a truly genuine man who was a friend to all he met.

Rest in Peace, Jack, it's well-earned.
