Konstantinos Dimakis Obituary

Published by Driscoll Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Mar. 5, 2018.
HAVERHILL - Konstantinos A. Dimakis, 56, known by many as Kosta, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on March 5, at the Lawrence General Hospital. He was born on May 24, 1961 in Chios, Greece. Kosta and his family immigrated to the United States in 1975 and settled in Haverhill. He was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill. Kosta graduated from Haverhill High School in 1979 and then joined the family business that his father Antonios worked so hard to establish, Mark's Deli, a popular family diner in downtown Haverhill. He worked many years next to his father and his two brothers, Nick and Stavros. Kosta was loved by so many of the regular customers at the diner; he always had a way to make everyone smile and laugh. Kosta married his first love, Jennifer (White) Dimakis, in October 1988. They went on to have two boys, Antonios and Nathan. Their two sons were the light of their lives. Sadly, Kosta's wife Jennifer passed away at age 42. She fought a courageous battle to cancer and passed on Mother's Day in May 2007. He was a huge sports fan, he loved all New England sports. His favorite sport, which he enjoyed with his wife and children was NASCAR. Kosta enjoyed going each year to Loudon with family and friends. He was a member of the Haverhill Elks Club for many years and made many friends that became his extended family. Kosta had the gift to make everyone laugh; he was always known to tell silly stories and jokes. His family members include his cherished his two sons Antonios Dimakis of Taunton, and Nathan Dimakis of Haverhill; loving father Antonios Dimakis of Haverhill and his predeceased, beautiful mother Evdokia Dimakis; two brothers Nikolaos Dimakis and wife Maria Dimakis of Taunton and Stavros Dimakis and wife Julie Dimakis of Haverhill; sister in-law Rachel Koch and husband Dennis of TN and sister in-law Teresa Chrimes and husband Bill of NH; also several nieces and nephews who will miss him tremendously. The Dimakis family would like to say thank you to all the medical staff that took great care of Kosta while he was sick. Thank you to those who always came to see Kosta, and to those who always called and asked how he was. May is memory be eternal. ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 10, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Graveside services will follow in the Dimakis Family Lot of Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kosta's memory to the High Point Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830. To share a memory, please visit www.driscollcares.com
