Loving Memory Nancy Kelly Reijonen A Celebration of Life will be held for Nancy Kelly Reijonen, 75, who passed away on Thursday, October 2nd at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 2400 SE 148th Ave, Portland, Or., reception to follow. Nancy was born in Silver City, NM then moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1965 starting a new life for her and her family, all 5 kids in tote. The first few years in the Northwest Nancy was a devoted housewife and mother then started her career at Western Fiber Resources and Kaiser Permanente where she worked until she retired in 2002. After she retired she became involved in many different hobbies which included, knitting, crocheting, beading, glass-fusing and spent her last days consumed by many quilting projects for her family. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden supplying her family with fresh vegetables year after year. Furthermore, she spent countless hours volunteering at the Veterans Hospital and American Legion Auxiliary, even managing to play bingo here and there with her new found allegiance of friends. Survivors include her devoted husband of 13 years Albert Reijonen, three daughters Theresa, Missy, & Bridget, her daughter-in-law Leah, two sons Joe and Chris, her son-in-law Tim Proetel, sister Patsy Wach, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, along with many family & friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Legion Unit 150, 8329 SE 89th Ave, Portland, Oregon 97266.
