Norman L. Zabilansky

Norman L. Zabilansky, 78, of Tolland, CT, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Louis and Caroline (Wochomurka) Zabilansky. Norman graduated from Stafford High School in 1950 and from Tri-State University in Angola, IN with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country during the Korean Conflict. His employment as an engineer consisted of working at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, Dexter Corporation, UTC Power Systems, and then retiring from Hamilton-Sundstrand in 1993. Norman’s hobbies included hunting, fishing with his children and grandchildren, golf, woodworking, travel, and tending to his apple orchard. His greatest pleasure in life came from spending time with his family. Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara (Orlowski) Zabilansky of Tolland, CT; three children, James N. Zabilansky and his wife Cara of Oxford, MA, David A. Zabilansky and his wife Paula of Tolland, CT, and Karen E. Duguay and her husband Michael of Ellington, CT; seven grandchildren, Justin, Jenna, and Lauren Zabilansky of Tolland, CT, and Andrew, Erica, Matthew, and Steven Duguay of Ellington, CT; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers, Charles, Louis, Raymond, Floyd, and Joseph. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 11 A.M.-1 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately.
