So sad to learn of his passing. I've known and admired Rick all the way back to our cub scout days, when we were still learning how to tie our shoes. Reconnected in Houston in the early 80's. We were short one guy for our beer league softball game one day, and I asked Rick if he wanted to play that evening. He drove all the way down from the north side of Houston, played 1st base, and blasted 3 home runs that went so far... The 3rd one rolled all the way into the bayou and they never did find it in the weeds. You could always count on Rick to show up when you needed him, and he would always show up big. God Bless his soul.
