I was lucky to meet Rita in the locker room of the Montclair YMCA. Rita asked me if I had a computer because she wanted me to hear IL VOLO. Rita suggested I might like Big Love at the Signature Theater in NYC and also suggested an excellent, well priced meal right across W 42nd Street and to call in advance. I was simply enthralled by her zest and flair! I cooked corned beef and cabbage for her and was more than delighted when she asked for seconds! I was a very weak link in the friendly neighborhood card game she pulled together through classes and sheer determination. Rita taught me to go for it and make it happen! I loved her hair and her smile, her layers of linen clothing and most of all her laugh! Ill never forget her.
With love, Eileen McCann
