YATES CITY ~ Rita Ann Filker, 69, of Yates City, passed away at 7:12 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born October 16, 1947 in Norris City to Harry and Dorothy (Allen) Blake.
Surviving are three sons, Clinton (Mona) Spires of Yates City, Terry (Staci) Spires of London Mills, Bill (Mona) Spires of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one daughter, Crystal (Joey) Dilts of Canton; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two brothers, Kenneth Blake of St. Petersburg, Florida and Wesley Blake of Mountain Grove, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Carlos on April 6, 2017 in Talladega, Alabama and one brother, Joe Blake.
Rita was of the Baptist faith.
A loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rita cherished being with her family and helping those in need. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and doing arts and crafts.
There will be a memorial visitation from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday July 19, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. There will be no services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4234 North Knoxville Avenue, Peoria, Illinois, 61614.
