I was privileged to know Rudy in New Orleans and later work with him in Houston for a period spanning over 30 years. I have never known a kinder, more dedicated colleague - a true gentleman. I am happy that he found the love of his life with Sue and that they had the genuinely happy years that will now serve her on her journey of healing.

Rudy Casaly had a way of overcoming other people's shyness, including mine and others. His close attention, deep respect and radiant smile gave everyone he met some of the recognition needed ... just to say that each one of us was someone of notice, even at a first dance with 7th graders. He emboldened us. He had the ability to enable everyone to feel good and positive. In my Fortier HS yearbook, he wrote to me [I just looked it up] that I was one of the finest friends he had ever known. Across from my apartment on a baseball park on Palmyra Avenue, a double-play throw from second base caught him right in the face as he was sliding down. But he was ready to play again immediately. This is one of the reasons, as we agreed way back when, how we came to know courage and toughness. He told me our friendship will never cease. That's true. Rest in peace, Rudy and see you in the great beyond ... Kent Ashworth

So saddened to hear of the loss of Rudy. He was a kind Fortier friend and a wonderful soul.
A quote from St Faustina's Diary Jesus: What joy fills my Heart when you return to Me. Because you are weak, I take you in My arms and carry you to the home of My Father.

Rudy was a terrific guy.I'll always remember him playing sports together our Fortier years. Those of us that had the pleasure to compete with Rudy will remember the good and not so good times.
I wish I knew what to say. My heart is heavy for the loss of our friend.
May you be blessed by the Glory of GOD and sit at his right side.

So sorry for your loss. Psalms 31:7 says, "I will rejoice greatly in your loyal love, For you have seen my affliction, You are aware of my deep distress." God will provide you and your family with the comfort you need during this difficult time."
