Seymour George Blitzer, of East Brunswick, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was 82. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Mt. Vernon NY, Los Gatos CA and Miami before moving to East Brunswick several years ago. He served in the United States Army in the early 1960's. George was a talented artist, specializing is portraits. He graduated from Pratt Institute in NYC. Some former students may remember him as a kindly school bus driver for Milltown School District. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, animal shelters and soup kitchens. He was an avid reader, great debater and could beat anyone at scrabble. George's humanity, generosity and kindness endeared him to all in his extended family. He set an example of devotion and selflessness as a caregiver for his beloved mother until her passing at almost 103 years old. He's predeceased by his parents, Murray and Sara (Berman) Blitzer. Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Caterina Blitzer of Indianapolis, IN, his sister and brother-in-law Diane Blitzer and Milt Jones of Portland, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Services are private. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
