DOLORES JOHNSON Obituary
Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home
Dolores Z. Johnson, 102 years, was peacefully taken home to our Father in Heaven Dec. 13th, 2012, as she was surrounded by her family.
She was born November 15th, 1910 to Henry and Emma Heuton in Atkinson, Nebraska. She was one of their four children. Her grandfather was one of six boys that immigrated to the U.S from Hanover, Germany. They first landed in Iowa and later moved to Nebraska where a lot of her family still resides. Dolores shared so many endearing stories of her times with family and friends in Nebraska. She was the favorite (Aunt Orzie) to her nephews and nieces. Dolores was a school teacher in a one-room schoolhouse, in which a male student would arrive early to get the stove going before classes began in the cold months.
She later met and married Theodore (Ted) Johnson. Dolores was so excited at the news of the war ending and Ted coming home, that she went into labor and had their daughter, Sherri, two months early!
The family soon after made their home in West Seattle. Dolores worked at the King St. Train Station downtown Seattle for the Northern Pacific Railroad. She started out as a janitor and quickly earned her way up to the administration department where she remained 'til her retirement. Dolores loved to have family and friends over. She spent a lot of her time in the kitchen making her wonderful cinnamon rolls, which her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved or she would be out working in her yard. She was very devoted to her faith in Christ and to her love for her family.
She leaves a beautiful legacy of faith and love that will continue through her daughter, Sherri, who has lovingly cared for her mom for the last few years, her grandchildren, Kim and Don (Darcie), and her great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Taylor, Samantha, and Tucker.
We will see our mom, grandma, great-grandma again, but we will miss her and carry her in our hearts 'til then.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma, her husband, Ted, brother, Russell, sisters, Floretta and Crystal, and her son Terry.
Burial will take place Friday, December 28, 2012, at 12:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Seattle.
The family invites you to sign their online guestbook at www.muellersfuneralhomes.com.
